 My Story... and I'm Stickin' to It!

Now gather 'round, my friends, and let ol' Santa tell you a little story...

Many Christmases ago, my family was blessed with a wonderful fellow who had the biggest heart this side of the North Pole. My older brother was our family's Santa Claus. Oh, what joy he brought! With a hearty "Ho, Ho, Ho!" and a twinkle in his eye, he filled the hearts of children with wonder, laughter, and Christmas magic for many years.

Then came a Christmas season we'd hoped would never arrive. Our beloved Santa hung up his boots for the very last time and journeyed on to Heaven's workshop. Our hearts were heavy, and we couldn't imagine Christmas without him. We wondered who could possibly keep the magic alive.

After many heartfelt conversations, my family looked my way. "You're the one," they said. "The suit needs filling, and the children still need Santa."

Well now... I have to admit, I wasn't so sure. Those are mighty big boots to fill! But after giving it plenty of thought—and maybe getting a little nudge from the Christmas spirit—I decided to carry on my brother's wonderful tradition.

So I got to work! I practiced my "Ho, Ho, Ho," polished my boots until they shined, fluffed the beard just right, and learned that the greatest part of being Santa isn't the red suit or the jolly laugh... it's seeing the sparkle in a child's eyes and believing, if only for a moment, that Christmas magic is real.

When Christmas arrived, I slipped into that familiar red suit, adjusted my hat, gave my belt one last tug, and stepped into a role that has become one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Every smile, every hug, every whispered Christmas wish reminds me of my brother and the incredible example he set. I don't try to replace him—no one ever could. Instead, I simply do my best to honor his memory by sharing the same love, kindness, and Christmas spirit that he shared so generously.

So if anyone asks how I became Santa...
